Clarence Keith Bird

Clarence Keith Bird is a Cree artist from the Saddle Lake First Nation. He was born in Lethbridge, AB, and raised in Saskatoon. Keith started sketching at the age of 14 and carving the next year.

Early mentors were Lloyd Pinay and Dave Kemp. Keith moved to Vancouver in 1999 and began to carve soapstone under the tutelage of his uncle, Donnie Bird.

He currently resides in Prince Albert, SK where he continues to carve and develop his own unique style, working with marble, Brazilian soapstone, alabaster and black chloride.
